I’m sitting here writing this at Grand Hill Residence by the pool in Koh Samui sipping on a watermelon shake whilst I wait for my lunch.

Samui was all about taking a break from travel and chilling out for a few days. I’ve been here three days and I hit the road again tomorrow headed for Bangkok and then Bhutan the day after. If you are ever looking for a hotel to chill out in, this is the place! It’s absolutely beautiful and we only paid £30 a night.

Over the last few days I havent done a lot although since we have hired a suzuki jeep, I did drive around the island yesterday, visited a few of the local sights, went unplanned 4wding to a waterfall (lucky I know how to drive a 4wd), rode an elephant named after my mother (that was a weird experience and in my defence I didnt know the elephant’s name until I was already on it), went shooting (9mm Beretta), had lunch at the top of the highest point on the island. It has been a nice relaxing few days and I have enjoyed it.

Today I am spending time packing, getting the washing done, planning further travel… domestic travellers chores really.
