Another very early morning (5am) and w were on a flight to Mandalay. We were falling asleep at the airport waiting for the flight but we made it thanks to Yangon Airways.

First stop was at a monastry to see the monks get fed. They have a very early breakfast and then lunch between 10:30am and 11am as they are not allowed to eat after midday. This particular place had 1200 monks so it was photo opportunity, although I do seem to have enough photos of monks!

Although I liked Mandalay, this particular day was temples galore and to be honest I am a little templed out. I actually skipped a couple of them as I couldnt face it and my leg was a bit sore but Carol and Anne went in. It seems that I didnt miss much as I believe we have seen pretty much every temple of any worth in South East Asia. If we havent, it sure seems like it.

Sunset was from the top of yet another temple, although this was lazy bastards temple as it at least had an escalator (I kid you not). We were on the top of a hill looking down on Mandalay which was pretty nice.

So far I prefer Yangon to every other place we have visited. Strangely enough it seems to be the place least affected by tourists.

cheers
