Cambodia! So far this has been a country of extremes. I think the things that have stood out for me most in Phnom Penh are the incredible differences.

You have the very rich driving around in their expensive cars and you have the very poor barely scraping enough money together to eat. Just looking out of my hotel room at night I can see people sleeping on the streets.

You have examples of the kindness that humanity can show such as the great work that is being done at the Wildlife Sanctuary and yet you also have one of the worst ever human atrocities.

Despite this Cambodians seem to be kind, happy and gentle people for the most part but now having a greater appreciation of the recent history of this country, I cant help but look at anyone who is middle aged and older and wonder what sort of lives they have led. I’m sure they have seen more than I ever hope to see.

Off to Siem Reap today to check out some temples and once that’s done, this part of Asia is done and dusted.
