Arrived in Saigon late at night and managed to make it to the hotel without incident, although was offered marijuana twice on the night I arrived. Noice! I must look like some sort of druggy.

Next morning, got picked up by Nga from XOTours on the back of her scooter and met up with Jon (who was part of the group that I travelled though Thailand and Laos with). We spent the morning weaving in and out of the traffic on the back of the girls scooters with a stop at the Post Office, the Cathedral, Reunification Palace and Pittman Apartments before dropping in on some local markets and stopping for som sugar cane juice. The girls were great. At no point did I feel unsafe despite the fact that I was in the midst of some manic traffic. Really enjoyed that trip!

After a bit of lunch, Jon and I headed up to the top of Bitexco Financial Tower which is the tallest building in Saigon. Well worth a visit as it puts the size of Saigon in perspective.

As far as cities go, I like Saigon. It’s ordered, clean(ish) and easier to navigate than Hanoi.
